چکیده
This study investigated the properties and sustainability of cement-bonded composites containing industrial residues such as wood chips, tyre fibres biomass combustion residues, i.e. bottom ash (BA) fly (FA). The effect cement-to-raw material (wood/tyre fibre) ratio (C/RM) aggregate content (BA FA) on thermal mechanical were investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) life cycle analysis (LCA) also conducted. results revealed that increased in composites, increased. mean conductivity volumetric heat capacity composite samples 0.37 W/mK 1.2 MJ/m3K respectively, while respective values for 0.29 0.81 MJ/m3K. SEM showed adequate bonding between wood/tyre cement matrix. LCA materials share total primary energy use was about 60% all analysed composites.

Over the last years promising cement bonded wood composites for structural purposes have evolved. Durability, toughness, high dimensional stability, resistance against environmental influences such as biodegradation or weathering but also availability of the raw material as well as economic factors are features which can make cement-bonded composites superior to conventionally bonded composites...
متن کاملStructure and Properties of Wood/ Polypropylene Composites
Composite wood products have traditionally relied on thermosetting polymers like phenol-formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde resins as binders. The continuing need to effectively utilize lignocellulosic fiber from lowquality hardwoods and from recycling streams has prompted consideration of new composites based on thermoplastic polymers [ 1,2]. Much of the development effort has focused on commod...
متن کاملTransport Properties of Carbon-Nanotube/Cement Composites
This paper preliminarily investigates the general transport properties (i.e., water sorptivity, water permeability, and gas permeability) of carbon-nanotube/cement composites. Carboxyl multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) are dispersed into cement mortar to fabricate the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) reinforced cement-based composites by applying ultrasonic energy in combination with the use of surf...
متن کاملWaste Chicken Feather as Reinforcement in Cement-Bonded Composites
This study investigated the use of waste chicken feather (barbs and rachis) as reinforcement in cement-bonded composites. A series of composite boards consisting of various proportions of waste feather, cement, sand, and chemical admixtures were prepared. Mix workability decreased significantly as the proportion by weight of feathers or ground feathers increased from 5% to 20%. Boards containin...
